What is PRP?
Platelet Rich Plasma is derived for your own blood, by collecting it and spinning it in the centrifuge, a specific layer of the plasma called “PRP”, this magic “liquid gold” contains growth factors, platelets and white blood cells. PRP has been used to treat acne, scarring, and alopecia (especially in women). Growth factors found in platelet rich plasma help with hair rejuvenation. It is an amazing solution to help stimulate the activity of the hair follicles and promote new hair growth. Injected intradermally into scalp by our licensed nurse will visible results after just one treatment.
Advantages of using PRP for aesthetic medicine include the following: tissue regeneration and rejuvenation, induction of cell differentiation, extracellular matrix formation, recruitment of other cells to the site of injury. In addition, PRP is nonallergenic, is an autologous physiological product. This PRP has restorative properties and enhances hair growth. With four times as many platelets as what is found in normal blood, the substance is called PRP.
Risks and downtime:
Downtime is almost non existent, some redness possible itching on the scalp is noted in the following 24 hours post treatment.
Blood is collected via venipuncture and then your nurse will start preparing PRP. Scalp is gently wiped with antiseptic and manual injections with a very tiny needle made. Some treatments done using an injector gun, which gives faster and more controlled distribution of PRP.
