What is? Chemical Peels
A chemical peel is a skin-resurfacing procedure in which a chemical solution is applied to the skin to remove the top layers. The skin that grows back after a chemical peel is smoother and younger looking. Chemical peels are used to treat wrinkles, skin discoloration and scars — typically on the face, but can be done on the body, to treat stretch marks and loose skin. A chemical peel can be done alone or in combination with other cosmetic procedures.
Chemical peels can be done at different depths — light, medium or deep — depending on your desired results. Each type of chemical peel uses a different chemical solution. Deeper peels produce more-dramatic results, but also involve longer recovery times.
Mild swelling and erythema post procedure might be present. Proper use of SPF and avoidance of sun is critical to avoid post inflammatory hyperpigmentation! Note: some chemical peels can be done all year around and do not require as much of sun protection (which is always important for anti-aging purposes).
Procedure usually take on average 30-40 minutes. No numbing used, since it is very comfortable, mild sensation of tingling, warmth will be present only with mid to deep peels. With certain chemical peels clients will be sent home with peel being still on the face, and with post instructions to keep peel on until the next morning.
Pt will go home with homeware products such as - mild cleanser, lubricating and moisturizing cream, growth factor gel and SPF. All products provided are Rhonda Allison skincare line.

Properties of salicylic acid
